Taos Community Foundation awards Teacher Grants to local teachers. As a continued funding initiative, TCF awarded nearly $23,000 in mini teacher grant awards to educators serving students in 10 public and charter schools within the Taos Municipal School District. A total of 59 grants were awarded at an invitational reception held on November 12, 2014, 24 of which were to first time applicant teachers. As part of a competitive application process, 93 applications were reviewed by TCF Education Committee Advisors that culminated in a strong docket of eligible projects that were then presented to interested fund-holders and donors. In a separate, but similar application cycle, 10 teachers in the Mesa Vista Consolidated School District were also awarded grants totaling just under $4,000, as an initiative now in its second year. Awards in this cycle were presented to teachers in both the Ojo Caliente Elementary and Mesa Vista High Schools.
